Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil IGP “SICILIA”, which obtained in 2021 the “Monde Selection GOLD AWARD” is the perfect pairing with our Balsamic vinegars and condiments and is obtained from the Olives grown in our own Orchard “Leonardi Baglio Vento” located in Sciacca, about 8 ha with over 4000 trees, some of which being ultra-centenary, rescued from the eradication thanks to a recovery project started by Mr Leonardi including a massive trimming and replanting of missing trees and the installation of a new efficient irrigation plant. When the north breezes blow, the olives are picked up and cold pressed within 6 hours, solely by mechanical means to obtain a high-quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil rich in polyphenols and to enhance the natural spicy flavours, keeping the nutrition and sensorial properties intact. The colour is deep green and the smell fruity of freshly picked olive, slightly herbaceous with tomato and artichoke hints and a pleasant almond aftertaste. This oil is recommended raw to dress salads, sauces, mains, meat and seafood, cheese, cold cuts, pizza and for bread dip, however, it is also suitable for cooking and frying.
